Deleting your data

In one line
Email support.shelfamber@gmail.com and say what you want deleted. We do it within 30 days and confirm when it is done. There is no form and no fee.
If you run a shop on Shelf
Two things are worth separating, because most people only want the first.
To disconnect Instagram and keep your shop: open Settings → Instagram in Shelf and disconnect. You can also remove Shelf from inside Instagram, under Settings → Apps and websites. Either one stops new messages arriving immediately. Your products and stock are untouched.
To delete the whole account: email us from the address you signed up with, saying you want your shop deleted. We remove the shop's products, prices, stock records, sales, customers, saved photographs, Instagram conversations and stored access tokens. It is not recoverable afterwards, so if you want a copy of your records first, ask in the same message and we will send it before deleting anything.
If you messaged a shop that uses Shelf
You do not have an account here, and you may never have heard of us until Instagram showed you this page. What we hold is the conversation you had with that shop: the messages, the display name Instagram gave us, and the id Instagram uses to identify you to that shop.
Ask the shop first. It is their record of a conversation with their customer, they control it, and they can act faster than we can.
If the shop does not respond, or you would rather not ask them, email support.shelfamber@gmail.com with the shop's Instagram handle and the handle you messaged from. We will find the conversation and delete it.
What we keep, and why
Where the law requires a record to be kept — a completed sale, for tax — that record stays for as long as it must, with personal details removed from it. Nothing is kept because it is convenient for us.
How long it takes
Within 30 days, usually the same week. We reply to say it is done rather than leaving you to wonder. If we cannot delete something and have to explain why, we will say so rather than go quiet.
